Legal centreTerms & Conditions
The rules for Proper Wins competitions, instant wins, entries, prizes, accounts, rewards, subscriptions and promotions.
These Terms govern use of properwins.co.uk, paid and free entries, draw-based and instant-win promotions, account features, rewards, Site Credit, Proper Pass and any other Proper Wins promotion that refers to them.
Every live game or promotion may contain specific details including opening and closing times, entry price, free-entry route, maximum entries, per-person limits, prize or cash alternative, instant-win structure, draw method and any significant promotional conditions. Read those details before entering.
1. Promoter and contact details
The promoter is Proper Wins, the UK business operating properwins.co.uk. General customer support: support@properwins.co.uk. Cash-prize and payout queries: winners@properwins.co.uk.
Business correspondence address: Proper Wins, 3F1 Third Floor, 3 Hill Street, Edinburgh, EH2 3JP.
2. Contract and order of precedence
The contract for an entry is made up of the competition or promotion page, these Terms, the Free Entry Route, Refund & Prize Claim Policy, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and any clearly identified promotion-specific conditions.
- Competition- or promotion-specific details shown before entry take priority for that game where they are more specific.
- These general Terms apply next.
- The other policies apply to their specialist subjects.
- No marketing headline overrides a significant condition that should have been shown clearly before participation.
If a conflict or obvious error is discovered, Proper Wins will interpret the documents fairly and consistently with applicable consumer and promotional law.
3. Eligibility
- You must be aged 18 or over and resident in the United Kingdom unless a specific promotion lawfully states a narrower area.
- You must enter using accurate details belonging to you and must be legally capable of entering.
- Employees, contractors and people materially involved in operating or auditing a draw, and their immediate households, may not enter that draw unless expressly permitted.
- You may be asked for reasonable proof of identity, age, residence, address, payment ownership or entry ownership before a prize is released.
- One person must not use multiple accounts, identities or payment methods to evade limits, restrictions or promotion rules.
4. Accounts and security
An account may be required for entry, ticket delivery, instant-win results, rewards, wallet balances, free-entry processing and winner verification. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for notifying Proper Wins promptly of suspected unauthorised access.
We may restrict or suspend an account while investigating age, identity, fraud, payment, chargeback, security, responsible-play or eligibility concerns. Any valid pre-existing winning entry will still be handled fairly.
5. Competition pages and significant information
Before entry, the relevant page should show or clearly link to the material information needed to make an informed decision, including the prize, ticket price, free-entry route, closing/draw time, maximum entries, relevant per-person limits and any unusual restriction or condition.
Where a promotion advertises cashback, Site Credit, a Power Hour, Daily Boost, multiplier or similar benefit, any significant condition such as a spend threshold, cap, time window, eligible payment type or non-withdrawable status must be clear and accessible before participation.
6. Paid entry route
To enter online, select the number of entries, complete checkout and successfully make any required payment. An entry is accepted only when the order is confirmed and the applicable ticket/result is allocated by the system.
Ticket inventory, per-player limits and closing rules shown on the game page apply equally to all applicable entry routes. Site Credit may be used only where the checkout allows it and does not turn promotional credit into withdrawable cash.
7. Free entry route
Eligible paid-entry chance promotions also provide the free route described on the Free Entry Route page. A valid free entry is entered into the same applicable prize-allocation system and must not receive worse odds or a different prize merely because no entry fee was paid.
The free route must be capable of being chosen without paying an entry fee, use only the normal cost of communication, and be displayed sufficiently clearly alongside the paid route. Full postal instructions form part of these Terms.
8. Entry limits and ticket allocation
The maximum entries available and any person/account/household limit are those shown on the relevant game page. Attempts to evade a genuine limit may be rejected or disqualified.
Ticket numbers may be assigned randomly or by another disclosed auditable method. The authoritative entry record is the server-side order/ticket record. If a duplicate ticket identifier is ever created by a genuine technical fault, Proper Wins will investigate the chronology and underlying records and provide a fair remedy rather than using the fault to avoid a legitimate prize.
9. Draw-based competitions
Draw winners are selected fairly from eligible accepted entries using the draw method stated on the competition page. The draw may be live, independently conducted, RNG-based or automated where stated.
Proper Wins does not extend a published closing date, reduce an advertised prize or cancel a draw merely because sales are below expectation. Any commercial profitability checks are internal pre-launch controls and do not reduce a prize already advertised to entrants.
10. Automatic draws
Where a competition page states Auto Draw, the winner will be selected automatically at or after the published draw time by the configured random-selection system from eligible entries. Paid and valid free entries are treated alike in the winner-selection process.
- The published game page will identify the intended closing/draw time and relevant timezone.
- Auto Draw does not depend on Proper Wins reaching an internal profit target after the game has launched.
- The system will retain an audit record sufficient to identify the eligible pool and selected result.
- If an outage or integrity concern makes the scheduled draw technically impossible, the draw may be delayed only for as long as reasonably necessary to restore a fair process, with a material delay communicated to entrants.
11. Instant-win competitions and reveals
An instant-win entry receives or is linked to an outcome through the underlying ticket/result allocation system. Participants should know immediately, or as soon as the accepted entry is technically processed, whether and what they have won and how to claim it.
Slot reels, scratch cards, boxes, balloons, wheels, bonus rounds, animations, sound, near-misses, celebratory sequences and other reveal effects are presentation only. They do not change the authoritative ticket outcome or create an additional win unless the published game rules expressly provide for a separate bonus mechanic.
Instant-win tickets or numbers are allocated using the configured fair/random mechanism. Proper Wins may retain audit records and use independent verification or auditing where appropriate to evidence fair distribution.
12. Every Ticket Wins, multi-win and bonus mechanics
Where a game is advertised as Every Ticket Wins, each valid accepted ticket receives at least the benefit described on that game page, subject to the game-specific prize structure. Where a game permits multiple wins, multipliers, bonus spins, retriggers or other mechanics, only the rules and prizes expressly stated for that game apply.
Decorative symbols or near-miss displays do not create a prize. The account/ticket result and prize ledger are authoritative, subject to correction of a proven system fault.
13. Technical faults and authoritative records
If a website, payment, animation, email, connection, ticket, balance or display issue occurs, Proper Wins will review the underlying order, transaction, ticket, result and server records. A visual malfunction does not by itself create or remove a legitimate recorded prize.
Where a genuine fault prevents a paid service from being supplied fairly, we may restore access, replay the presentation without changing the recorded outcome, issue a corrected entry, provide an equivalent remedy or refund as appropriate. We will not rely on a minor technical issue to avoid a legitimately recorded win.
14. Closing dates, sell-out and exceptional changes
A competition closes at the time stated on its page or earlier if the published maximum entry inventory is genuinely exhausted and the page expressly allows closure on sell-out. Entries received after closure cannot be accepted.
Rules, closing dates or prizes will only be changed after launch where genuinely necessary because of exceptional circumstances outside reasonable control, legal or safety requirements, or to correct an obvious material error without unfairly disadvantaging existing entrants. Material changes will be communicated and a fair remedy provided where required.
15. Prizes, cash alternatives and fulfilment
The advertised prize will be awarded subject to winner verification. If a cash alternative is offered, its amount and choice rules will be shown on the game page or winner communication. Proper Wins will not substitute a lower-value prize simply because sales were lower than expected.
Physical-prize delivery, collection, registration, insurance, tax, warranty, running costs, specifications, colour or supplier conditions may be described on the game page. Where a specific product becomes genuinely unavailable, a fair equivalent or disclosed cash alternative may be agreed with the winner.
16. Winner verification and publicity
We may verify age, identity, residence, entry ownership and payment ownership before fulfilment. Verification must be proportionate and will not be used as an unnecessary barrier to receiving a valid prize.
Winner names and prize information may be published where required for promotion transparency, subject to applicable law and reasonable objections. Photos, video, interviews and testimonials are not a condition of receiving a prize unless this was lawfully and prominently disclosed before entry.
17. Cash wins and the Proper Wins wallet
Confirmed cash wins are recorded separately from Site Credit. Cash-prize and payout queries should be sent to winners@properwins.co.uk.
Where the game and winner communication state the standard Proper Wins claim rule, a cash withdrawal request must be made within 14 days of notification/availability. After that period the cash-withdrawal option may expire and the equivalent value may remain available only as non-withdrawable Site Credit. This rule must be disclosed clearly enough to the customer before or at the point it becomes relevant and does not remove rights that cannot legally be excluded.
18. Site Credit
Site Credit is an account benefit usable only on eligible Proper Wins purchases. Unless expressly stated otherwise, it is non-withdrawable, cannot be sold or transferred and is not cash held on deposit.
- Site Credit used at checkout is not counted as new external cash spend.
- Site Credit does not inflate cash revenue or cash-profit reporting in the HUB.
- Promotional credit, cashback credit, Daily Spin credit and similar rewards may have separate eligibility or misuse-prevention rules.
- Credit may be corrected or reversed where issued because of an obvious error, duplicate award, refund, chargeback, fraud or promotion abuse.
19. 5% purchase cashback
Where active, eligible genuine cash/card purchases earn the cashback percentage displayed in the account area, currently 5%, as non-withdrawable Site Credit. Site Credit spent at checkout does not earn cashback on that portion.
Cashback is calculated on qualifying external spend actually retained after cancellations/refunds. Refunds, chargebacks or corrected orders may cause linked cashback to be reduced or reversed.
20. Purchase Streak
The Purchase Streak is a promotional loyalty feature. The current account target is £1 genuine cash/card spend in a qualifying calendar day to secure that day, unless the account displays a different future threshold.
- Only qualifying external cash/card spend counts; Site Credit, free entries, refunded amounts and cancelled/unpaid orders do not.
- Only one streak day can be secured for the same calendar day.
- Milestone rewards are those displayed in the account when earned and may include Site Credit, entries, Power Plays or other benefits.
- Any Streak Shield or Proper Pass protection operates only as described in the member/account area.
21. £5 Daily Boost, Daily Spins and Power Play
Where active, reaching £5 genuine cash/card spend in a qualifying day unlocks the Daily Boost benefits shown in the account, currently including a timed Daily Spin access window and a 24-hour Power Play benefit.
The Daily Spin game is a promotional reward feature behind the qualifying unlock. Availability, recharge timing, number of spins, prize table and Site Credit values are displayed in the account. A spin outcome is generated by the reward system and recorded to the reward ledger; the reveal presentation does not alter that recorded outcome.
Future prize tables or thresholds may change prospectively, but a benefit already validly earned will not be retrospectively reduced merely because the programme is later redesigned.
22. Power Plays and Power Hours
A Power Play or Power Hour is a time-limited promotional enhancement. The promotion must state the material benefit and significant conditions before participation, including any qualifying spend, eligible games, reward cap, start/end time and whether the benefit is Site Credit rather than cash.
Customer-specific Power Plays may be shown only to eligible logged-in customers. Eligibility personalisation does not alter the underlying odds of a paid competition unless the game page expressly and lawfully states otherwise.
23. Referrals
Where active, a genuinely new referred customer may generate the referral reward shown in the account. The standard referral benefit may include £5 Site Credit per qualified friend, together with any Proper Pass multiplier or Reveal Boost displayed to the referring customer.
- The referred person must be genuine, new and satisfy the displayed qualifying conditions using genuine external spend where required.
- Self-referral, duplicate/controlled accounts, false identities, account farming or manufactured transactions are prohibited.
- Refunded, cancelled, unpaid or fraudulent qualifying transactions may invalidate or reverse the reward.
- Referral rewards are promotional and non-withdrawable unless expressly stated otherwise.
24. Proper Pass
Proper Pass is an optional recurring membership with tiers, pricing and benefits shown before joining. Depending on tier and current programme design, benefits may include Site Credit, automatic entries, reward multipliers, Power Plays, Streak protection, member promotions or other account benefits.
- The amount and billing frequency are displayed before subscription.
- By subscribing you authorise recurring charges until cancellation.
- Benefits are normally allocated after a successful joining payment or renewal.
- You may cancel through the available account route or support. Cancellation stops future renewals and normally leaves already-paid access active until the end of the current paid period.
- Promotional automatic entries have no cash value and remain subject to the rules of the relevant draw.
- Failed, reversed or refunded payments may suspend future benefits and may allow unused benefits directly linked to that payment to be removed where lawful and proportionate.
Proper Wins will keep subscription information and cancellation routes clear and will update the programme as UK subscription-law requirements develop.
25. Promotions and marketing offers
Power Hours, credit-back offers, Daily Boost campaigns, Proper Pass promotions, new-game offers and other marketing promotions may have additional terms. Significant conditions will be presented clearly enough in the promotional material or immediately accessible before participation.
A headline such as “100% Site Credit Back” refers to Site Credit, not withdrawable cash, and must be read with the displayed qualifying window, cap and eligibility conditions.
26. Responsible play and player protection
Proper Wins is for adults only. We may provide spend limits, cooling-off tools, marketing suppression, account suspension or self-exclusion. We may intervene, restrict activity or request additional checks where behaviour appears harmful, excessive, underage, fraudulent or inconsistent with these Terms.
A player-protection restriction must not be bypassed using another account, identity or entry route. Valid prizes from entries accepted before a restriction will be handled fairly.
27. Payments, refunds and chargebacks
Available payment methods are those shown at checkout. You must use a payment method you are authorised to use. Paid entries are normally non-refundable after acceptance and allocation, subject to rights that cannot legally be excluded and the exceptions in the Refund & Prize Claim Policy.
Contact support before initiating a chargeback where reasonably possible. Fraudulent or unjustified chargebacks may result in account restriction or recovery action, but genuine statutory and card-scheme rights are unaffected.
28. Fraud, abuse and prohibited behaviour
- Providing false, stolen, incomplete or misleading information.
- Entering while under 18, ineligible or subject to an active restriction.
- Using multiple accounts to evade limits or player-protection controls.
- Automating entries, exploiting faults, manipulating requests, tampering with game/reward systems or interfering with another user.
- Abusing free entry, refunds, chargebacks, referrals, Site Credit, promotions or rewards.
- Using the service for fraud, money laundering, commercial resale or unlawful conduct.
29. Suspension, disqualification and withheld prizes
We may reject an entry, pause a payout, suspend an account or disqualify a participant where there are reasonable grounds to believe eligibility, security, payment, promotion or legal rules were materially breached. Decisions will be proportionate and based on available evidence.
A legitimately recorded prize will not be withheld simply because its value is inconvenient or sales were lower than expected.
30. Website availability and third parties
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Hosting, payment, email, analytics, social-media, identity, fraud-prevention and other providers may experience outages. Proper Wins will take reasonable steps to preserve accepted entries, balances and draw integrity.
Third-party links are provided for convenience and are subject to the third party’s own terms and privacy information.
31. Intellectual property
Proper Wins branding, artwork, game presentation, software, copy and website materials are owned by or licensed to Proper Wins. They may not be copied, reverse engineered, scraped for commercial exploitation or republished without permission, except where law allows.
32. Liability
Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or mandatory consumer rights.
Subject to that, Proper Wins is not responsible for unforeseeable or indirect consumer loss, business loss incurred by a consumer, loss caused by inaccurate details supplied by the customer, unauthorised use that the customer failed reasonably to protect against, ordinary postal delay or events outside reasonable control.
33. Complaints
Formal complaints should be sent to support@properwins.co.uk with the subject Formal Complaint. The Contact, Complaints & Support page explains target response times and external escalation options.
34. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms prospectively when services, law, technology or business processes change. The version applying to an entry is the version made available when that entry was submitted, together with the competition-specific details accepted at that time.
We will not retrospectively remove a prize or benefit already validly earned merely because the Terms later change.
35. General legal terms
If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. Delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer an account or entry without permission. No third party has a right to enforce these Terms unless expressly stated.
36. Governing law and courts
These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. If you are a consumer, you retain the mandatory protections and court rights available in the part of the United Kingdom where you live. In other cases, the courts of Scotland have jurisdiction.
